How can I measure my website loading speed?
Since May 2020, Google announced that mobile-friendliness, speed, and visual stability have become more important factors as the ranking signals. In particular, Core Web Vitals, a set of metrics related to speed, responsiveness, and visual stability, has been adopted to help site owners measure user experience on the web. So you have to make sure your store and all pages can be loaded within a reasonable time, whether it's on mobile phones, desktop, or tablet devices.
You can try 2 free tools to measure your site speed:
- Google PageSpeed Insights
The tool is very easier to use. Just enter the URL and you can get a score of how your site performs on Mobile and Desktop. if your store is running too slow, you probably need to scale down your images, remove unnecessary script, etc. For your information, PageSpeed Insights is integrated into SPO => setting tab. You can scan your store domain by clicking the "Check Now" button - Pingdom
Pingdom is my other favorite tool, though it may look more technical. After you input your URL, you can choose where to conduct your test. If your customers are outside the US, you can choose another region like Europe or Asia. It can help you to better simulate your customer experience. Also, broken links on the page can be discovered.
